Hi, I'm Emily.

I'm a product manager specializing in cybersecurity products.

I’m a Product Management leader in cybersecurity startups and growth phase companies. I'm an expert in cybersecurity market analysis, feature prioritization, and strategic roadmapping. I'm equally comfortable working with business leaders and technologists, and I'm sales team friendly. I have built both UI based and API based products in regulated and complex industries. I excel at launching large, new products or initiatives, as well as founding or restarting a product department.

My extended thoughts on product management

I founded the In the Lab program in 2022 with the mission to pull more people from underrepresented backgrounds into product management. I've trained over 200 product managers, who are now employed at places like Capital One and NBC Universal.

I'm available for product consulting and on-going product management work. If you're a founder, CEO, investor, or product leader who needs a second opinion on your cybersecurity product's gaps and opportunities, let's chat!

Selections of My Work

Kenna Security

I was the first product manager for a Series C cybersecurity startup in growth phase with ~200 employees (acquired by Cisco in 2021). Kenna was a B2B SaaS vulnerability management product for IT security teams built on proprietary algorithms (ML/AI).As part of my work, I established product practices, worked with sales leadership, PM'ed for 3 engineering teams, and helped on-board a second product manager.During my time at Kenna, I took the MVP of the Application Risk Module and redesigned and rebuilt it, rebranding to Kenna AppSec. Kenna AppSec was the first Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) tool on the market.

Finite State

Finite State is a leading Software Supply Chain Security company that specializes in connected device security, specifically binary analysis SCA and SAST, Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) generation and management.I led a small team of designers and product managers and worked with 3 engineering teams. I was responsible for managing the overall company roadmap, as well as pricing and packaging and feature definition and design. I led the replatforming of the application to a new tech stack and helped the marketing team in the Go to Market launch.
